I am a Legal Data Scientist with extensive experience working on the collection, analysis and communication of legal data. I created and currently maintain 19 open legal data projects, which have been collectively downloaded more than 200,000 times. This was before vibe coding became a thing, so I actually know how to get things done without training wheels.
I served as Chief Legal Officer for the non-profit RASHID International for close to 10 years, working to protect the cultural heritage of Iraq. Some of my successes include leading the team of the ‘Destroying the Soul of the Yazidis report, securing special consultative status with the UN and negotiating the protection of heritage sites in war.
I studied law at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Germany), passed the First Legal State Examination with a grade of “gut” (top 5% in the State of Bavaria) and received an award for exceptionally outstanding achievements in international law. My open data work on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) was awarded third place in the 2022 Open Data Impact Award by the Stifterverband für die deutsche Wissenschaft.
See my academic website for more details and regular updates on my scientific and non-profit work.
I have special expertise in the following areas and technologies:
